Holy

"You shall be holy, for I am holy." 1 Peter 1:16 ESV

Our actions, behavior, and heart ought to be Holy. This mandate is not a constraint but a freeing promise from the Lord. Here's why.

God's holiness goes much deeper than behavior. He is Holy because He overflows out of His wholeness and love; He lacks nothing. He promises that same wholeness for us; we can walk out holiness by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus can transform our brokeness, restoring our hearts, and bring us to wholeness. Jesus brings us true inside-out holiness and not behavior modification.

There is a promise of hope in this verse, not a mandate to fear. So go, partner with the Holy Spirit, and BE HOLY!
