Blessed are your eyes...

Shabbat Shalom,

After explaining the parable of the sower to His followers, Jesus turned to His disciples and said, "But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear" (Matthew 13:16 ESV). As followers of the way of Jesus, we know we are also blessed to see and hear. However, we are responsible for this new perspective. We cannot claim ignorance.

Jesus walked the earth looking at the world through the perspective of Heaven. We must train our eyes and ears to see and hear in the same way as Jesus. We need to be open to the interruptions of the Heavens, to Holy Spirit tugging on our hearts to make a difference. May we not just see but act. We are called to humbly use our talents, skillsets, and insight to make a difference, to bring Heaven down to earth in every encounter.
