Let's look at Matthew 23, the parable of the three talents. The master comes home from an extended absence and checks on the talents he left in his servant's care. He commends those who invested the talents (money) and condemns the servant who did not. Laurie Beth Jones comments on the parable by noting the two wise servants, "recognize the treasure is not the money or talent they were given as much as it was their ability to multiply it."
The Lord promotes and values the multiplication of resources. It goes back to the first exhortation to humanity from the Lord, "Be fruitful and multiply" (Genesis 1:28). We are empowered to supernatural multiplication from the beginning of the Bible. Take a moment to take stock of the treasures the Master has entrusted to you, and begin to ask the Holy Spirit for a strategy on how to multiply it.
