Secure in the Father's love

We often try to imitate Jesus' actions by sheer force of will, believing that we will somehow encompass his selflessness if we try harder or be better. But let's look at the context of Jesus's ministry.

Jesus was secure in the Father's love. He did not need the approval or praise of man. This security allowed Jesus to live truly free, free from fear of his own needs being overlooked, free to be others-focused. This freedom allowed Jesus to love others extravagantly.

Look at how it flows.

Settle into relationship with the trinity and learn the fullness of His love. The natural overflow will be, "Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples" John 13:35
